Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
Pass, pass, pass, little one two's, nutmegs, dummies, dragbacks and so on and so forth - right up to the goaline where we run out of space.

Clever football, but tippy tappy football - attractive even through the back and through midfield, but in the final 1/3rd we are very short of the cutting edge.

Murdered them without scoring in the 1st half, ran out of idea's in the 2nd - Billic, sadly, didn't have an alternative other than Carroll as a bulldozer - & that's never going to work consistently.

Crying out for a player like Song who can hold, create and play cleaver balls into the final 1/3rd's channels.

Why didn't he come on? Fuck knows.

We're gonna be a mid table side at best this year lads - relegation's not an issue, but we're stuck in mid table mediocrity.

"Relegation's not an issue"

Our last 4 games would suggest not to be complacent about this

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
I don't think we play tippy tappy football at all.

I think the quality of the football has been poor this season and vastly over exaggerated because of just 2 creative players in our team.

Our movement is very poor.

Any chance we can give Slav some time to build his squad, a lot of these players have been used to hoofball and you can't just get rid of thst mentality straight away. Adapting to a new system is gonna take a bit of time so be patient!

Yeah but as soon as Pansy Potter ran on we resorted to hoofball. Definitely missing in the final third. That game today should have been won by halftime - they dead and buried. We need a clinical striker. Maybe two! Someone who he can bring on and revert to a two man front......and we can have the confidence that these gilt edged chances are gonna go in. Even Sakho does not have this killer instinct in front of goal.

didn't play too bad today. Had the better chances. The only gripe we faded second half, maybe a slight excuse of playing into the wind

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
All we've ever been is a lower mid-table side that's pretty on the eye that won a cup or two once-upon-a-time but has been far more likely to get relegated than win anything over the past 25 years or so... Including four actual relegations (I believe) in that time...

Yeah, I know that I sound like a bit of a DRUID by saying this but it's true and I'd be content with a mid-table finish this year by playing entertaining football - and we're on-course to do just that...

Then, we can start to plan bigger - but take it step-by-step...

This is quite superb.

We should definitely be playing it in the air at all times.

All the chances we created in the first half we should have scored 5.

What a fucking stupid opening post.

Moaning about a West Ham side attempting to play football.

I think we can all agree, we'd much rather return to the days of statistical, percentage football that BFS played.

Does anybody remember the game Gorillas?

This is a fucking moronic thread. Get a fucking grip.

We are sixth and doing well.

That's a real achievement considering these clubs have much greater finances and therefore spending power.

Chelsea
Man Utd
Liverpool
Arsenal
Man City
Tottenham (yes, Tottenham)

We are eighth, so only being beaten by Palace in 'our pack'.

Get a fucking grip you moron.

Re: Becoming a poor man's Arsenal..
I have no idea what the OP's point is. At this point mid table mediocrity and playing good football is a big improvement on dodging relegation and playing dull defensive dross. After the OS move who knows?
